AirTouch or AirFit? The difference is the cushion

What you actually notice
The specs, translated.
Fabric, not silicone
The part that touches your face is soft woven fabric that wicks moisture, so you get less of the slick, sweaty feeling silicone can leave behind on a warm night.
Connects at the top of your head
The tube runs up and over instead of hanging off your chin, which means you can roll onto either side without dragging the hose across your face.
Flexes to your face shape
The frame bends rather than sitting rigid across your cheeks, so it works across a wider range of face shapes and head sizes.
QuietAir diffuses the exhaust
Air leaves the mask through a mesh vent that spreads it out instead of firing a jet sideways. Quieter for you and for whoever is next to you.
Magnetic clips
The clips find each other and snap shut, which matters at 2am in the dark. Not suitable if you have certain implants, see the safety information below.
Quick-release
One press and you are off the machine, mask still fitted and adjusted, so you do not have to redo the straps when you get back into bed.
Packing it
You are on a travel CPAP site, so here is the part the manufacturer page will never tell you.
- The frame separates from the cushion in one movement, so the mask packs flat rather than as a rigid lump.
- The fabric cushion needs to stay dry. If you are heading somewhere humid or camping, pack a spare cushion.
- Pack it in your carry-on with your machine. Most airlines do not count CPAP equipment towards your cabin baggage allowance, though it is worth confirming with yours before you fly.
- AirMini users need the ZephAir adapter. Buy it now rather than discovering it in a hotel room.
Complete the kit
Cushions and frames wear out on a schedule, so most people buy the next one with the mask.
